Oh how I loathe and ♥ this polish. So beautiful in the bottle yet so very difficult to deal with! ALSO IT’S A FAKE! As in it’s labeled as “Splish Splash” from the summer 2012 collection but alas its not, I have been fooled.
China Glaze Blue Sparrow looks pretty cool in the bottle but it the biggest pain to apply. I did it out doors so maybe that’s a factor, but it dragged a lot and clumped up and dried out fast. Which is why this looks so bumpy. 3 coats and a top coat very pretty but maybe not worth the hassle. If I do put this on again I will do it indoors and I will update this post! It might make a slight difference- but until then- this is all ya get. -.0
I really hate saying hello or hi to being with. In really life I’m not really like that either I just start talking….usually. So have you ever gone surfing? I wanted to at one point when I lived in Florida growing up but it was more like a desire to just be able to do it without the effort. I’ve changed a lot since I was a child and my teenage years. I’m up for almost any challenge now. I still may try to make an excuse to not start something but unlike when I was younger- I don’t back out of a challenge I’ve already committed to. I guess I’m just not afraid of losing anymore. But yeah- I’d love to try surfing now! Sorry didn’t mean to get all deep on ya…XD cheesy I know. ON TO THE POLISH!
So China Glaze Surfin’ For Boys has so far for me been one of the hardest to capture on my camera. If you love neon corals with a pink shimmer maybe a tiny bit duo(colored? they’re not chromes!), maybe its just a strong shimmer that I’m totally amazed at and at loss for proper description, you will LOVE THIS. It is a must see IRL. I highly recommend it. Good formula, 3 coats plus top coat, they dry satin matte because of their neon nature. The settings on my camera are altered so that the color was true but my flesh looked corpse like. Once I put the pics in the multiple image resizer to watermark and such, some how it made it seem a little bit more red toned then it is! So what looks orangey should be a bit more pink so….neon coral as said before. So I could rave about this for awhile but I wont. Enjoy!
Helllloooooo! Hows your summer been thus far? Mine is going well even though I do less and less every year. Up here in Montana it will be winter before we know it. Anyways, to prolong that, sear your eyeballs with this baby. 😄
China Glaze Sun-Kissed is actually quite easy to use for a neon. 3 coats and a top coat because these dry a little satin matte. I didn’t really need any white undies even though China Glaze has put a white polish in with the Summer Neons collection display. I would make it pop more but really…my eyes hurt good enough. Haha. Anyways you can’t tell from these photos really but has subtle but visible stunning shimmer in it. Maybe leaning a little green.
This is just one of 3 I got and probably the easiest to photo graph. I’m trying to hurry up and get all the summer shades out because even though I don’t really care about season when I put on polish, my readers might. I’m hoping to have some time to do some nail art like I’ve been saying over and over again! Sorry! Invader Zim anyone? Just dying to do it.
Hello! Today I want to show you one of the new China Glaze Prismatic’s, Prism! Which is when described by China Glaze it’s “Grape purple holographic gleams with pink shimmer and glitters with pieces of pink, blue, green, orange, silver and gold. ” Some of these picture’s turned out a little better then I thought. Be sure to click on the pics to see shimmers and glimmers. 😉
The formula was surprisingly good. Flows onto the nail very smooth for a glitter. 3 coats in these photos with Sally Hansen Inst Dri top coat. If you have a nice thick topcoat and really want this to feel like glass, you should definitely use it. But otherwise it isn’t terribly rough.
I tried to make sure that I took pictures of this in tons of different settings/ lighting. I think none of these pictures (except maybe the second one; inside, no flash, outside light from window) show it being purple. Also, the 4th pic seems to show it a little bit pink/purple. This is such a pretty polish. I was debating between getting this one and “Liquid Crystal”, which is a bright blue. Blue or purple? That’s always a hard question for me haha. I may have to save up and get Liquid Crystal, because I really like Prism. Also if you can find them Wet n’ Wild has dupes of these in their “Coloricon Bejeweled” collection.
So what do you think of the ultra glitter polish?
Hello! Are you ready for this?! Compared to my last post which made me want to scream with horror, this one makes me want to squeal with delight. I don’t want to type anything else until you see this! FYI I can’t stand the word pastel so I have omitted it from this post with my own “proper” term.
WEEEEEE!!!!!!! I love it! Doesn’t it make you want to hug a unicorn? I think this is something that would be either spring or baby shower appropriate. Now for the technique we’re going to go to one of my most FAVORITE youtuber’s Colette! She was inspired by another person on YT and I was likewise inspired by Colette but for something a little different and softer. I also wanted to show that this is doable on shorter nails. Anyways she has a wonderful tutorial on how to do this rainbow manicure in neon’s and leopard print. It’s only 3 colors, 4 when you count your base coat. So real quick here’s what I used!
What I used:
- Base color- OPI Alpine Snow (white)
- Pink- Sally Hansen “Bubblegum Pink”
- Yellow- Sinful Colors “Unicorn”
- Blue- Sinful Colors “Cinderella”
- Glitter on ring finger- Salley Hansen “Hallucinate”
- Glitter on other fingers- China Glaze “Snow Globe”
So what do you think are you in love as much as I am? 😉
For all you that thought this was about a real jelly sandwich- sorry I tricked you. 😀 This is about what is called a “candy manicure” aka jelly sandwich. This consists of a base color, a glitter polish, followed by a “jelly” polish. Jelly obviously meaning a clearish colored polish….like jelly. There is no right or wrong way to this. Some people do a creamy jelly finish(as I did) as their over glitter layer. Some people do another glitter layer! Sometimes people skip the base color. So to me it’s all about just having fun and experimenting. I think that’s sort of how some of these girls on etsy get their idea’s for their handmade/indie polishes that just look so freaking awesome and unique!
So this is my first jelly sandwich, I think it’s hideous… 😛
This is were I should have stopped and gave up on the whole jelly sandwich idea.
Also didn’t realize there was a HUGE drag on my middle finger. Uck…I hate this! In my head it seemed like a good idea. Next time I will look good and hard for a non creamy jelly finish. So hopefully there will not be a disappointing post on the next. I take back what I said in the beginning- apparently there IS a wrong way.
So on my weekly visit to Walgreen’s I nearly jumped for joy when I saw that Sinful Colors has their own version of a flakies polish called Green Ocean. It goes with their St. Patrick’s Day display! I honestly can’t tell you what else was on display because when I saw that- that was all I saw! I vaguely remember some skinny striping polishes….probably something they always have though. I’ve noticed that with SC, when they have a holiday display it usually contains colors from their core line. But not always…..especially in this case because I’ve never seen Green Ocean (GO) before. I wish I could have SC other “Ocean’s” a blue and a pink! But the pink is called Deep Red Ocean…? W.e! Picture time!
I’m not sure if I care for it over white….my hubby said it looked like a fungus. GO is a little bit gritty especially if you blob it on like I did on a few fingers. A thicker topcoat would work great. Right now I don’t own any other colored flakies but a short while back Zoya had a promotional thing going on where you got 2 free polishes- you just had to pay shipping. And with my polishes came a color chart with their True collection which has the flakies. I also received the Feel collection color chart with 6 empty spaces…sooooo I decided to fill in one with the GO to compare it that way since I do not actually own any Zoya flakies. I thought at first it might be just like Opal since its green too. But when I pulled the brush out I noticed that there was actual glitters in GO. And in the tray it was a bit less green. Kind of an in between Opal and Maisie( which is blue).
After I bought this I almost immediately regretted not buying a back up. I knew I’d be crazy about this! Luckily I live in a rather small town and when I went back almost a week later there was 2 bottles left so I bought them both!….Sad when you think that even those 2 bottles, actually all 3 are cheaper then a China Glaze or an OPI.
