Zoya Arizona

Oh hi! Ok so, I mentioned before I’m a little bit obsessed with Arizona. That’s where my hubby and I met and fell in love. That’s not the WHOLE reason of course. Anyways, so I knew I had to have Zoya’s Arizona purely based on the name. I know, silly. But its worth it, I don’t have a lot of oranges and this is pretty sweet.

Zoya Arizona

This color really makes me think of orange creamsicles! Yummmyyyy! Zoya Arizona is 3 coats, with no topper. Dries a little darker then what you see and is a little bit of a pain. It really likes to drag and bald. So 3 coats was a must. Still very pretty summery orange!

I don’t have much else to say right except I think I might have to go to the store now and buy some yummies.

Jeepers Creepers!

In the spirit of Halloween and everything spooky and fun, I came up with this eye popping design. XD Apparently I like puns.

♫♪ Jeepers creepers! Where’d you get those peepers? Jeepers creepers where’d you get those eyes?♪♫ Maybe I’m just old, but does anyone else remember that song? I heard it in an old black and white cartoon. And I don’t think it was Casper either…. Or was it?

Also if anyone is wondering about the cookie- it’s my famous “Less Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Chip Cookies”. I make them this way because as much as I like chocolate chip cookies- I really don’t like to bite into my cookie and see a center filled with chocolate. I’m weird, I know.

So anyways onto instructions for this design. Which happens to be my first video tutorial!!!!!! XD

Just to add into the video a little bit- for the pupil you could make a slit pupil like a cat or snake! 😀

List of Items Used:

  • White Nail Polish: OPI “Alpine Snow”
  • Wet n’ Wild Fantasy Makers Glow-in-the-dark polish
  • Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Acrylic Paints:
    • Black: Folk Art “Pure Black”
    • Navy: Folk Art “Navy”
    • Light Blue: Jo Ann’s Craft Essentials “Baby Blue”

Sorry I didn’t get a better picture of the brushes. They’re nothing special, just cheap brushes I got from Jo Ann’s. You can use whatever sizes you feel comfortable with.

Fruit For All

Fruity Fingers

Yummm! Who could resist? All these need now is a basket! XD

Base Coat all nails! I used OPI Nail Envy.

Apple! I put down a green base color for my background and used my largest dotting tool to make the sparkly red apple. It would probably look even nicer to outline you apple in black. I used my smallest dotting tool to make a “shiny” spot on the apple and the stem.

Grapes! My base color use was white, I used one of my larger dotting tools (not the largest)to sporadically place the grapes in somewhat of a cluster. Don’t have them too close or it will end up looking like a blob. I used my detail brush to add the curly stem and leaf.

Strawberry! Base color red. Use a darker green to make a saw toothed edge tip. To do this gently place the nail polish brush at an angle on the nail where you want the tip of the leaf to be and drag it downward off of the nail. Repeat until finish. Try not to place the brush to close to the previous leaf tip because they will just look like you did a sloppy french tip. It’s better to go a little bit farther away then you think it should just in case and then you can build it up if it needs it. For the seeds I used a yellow stripper polish and dabbed on the seeds. I used yellow because I thought it looked more like real seeds.

Watermelon!Creamy pink base color! Then start at the bottom with a dark green stripper and make a thing line int the tip of the nail. Make another line next to that one in a white. This next line is optional- pink! I did it this way because I think it looks nicer. If you don’t like it you can skip it. Now for the seeds you can use a dotting tool, I just used the black stripper brush and dabbed them on in somewhat of a row like you would see in a real slice of watermelon.

Kiwi! Base color is a shimmery lime green. make the center of the fruit “slice” by using a light green a making lines, very close together, into and oval shape. These lines don’t need to be uniform- just as long as they take the oval shape, leaving the center open. Make some seeds, same as before, using the stripper brush and dab them around the edges of the oval.

Top Coat!

Sorry there is no “Polishes Used” List this time! I did this awhile ago. My collection has grown since I’ve done this design and I’m not sure which colors where used for some of the nails. I will try to make this list later. I hope you enjoy this in the mean time while I try to get some new designs together for next week. 😀

Quick Question! Does anyone play OMGPop?

Itty Bitty Paw Prints

Itty Bitty Paw Prints

This is my own design, using my own polish that I bought with my own money. 🙂

This design was requested by another friend of mine. 😉

I know that “IHaveACupcake” on youtube has a similar design that’s just as fun and easy. Check her out!

This design is super easy to do! All you need is a few of your favorite colors and a dotting tool (which you can make yourself!).

Put down a base coat and your favorite color (I used a magenta type of polish).

Put a few drops of your contrasting polish on a piece of paper or on a plate or an old lid of something- you get the idea- something you don’t mind ruining. You’re going to be dipping your dotting tool in this for creating the paw prints. I used a pearly white on my left and black on my right for the paw prints.

Putting on the paw prints are really easy. Now personally I like paw prints that look a little more realistic so I put three dots close together in a triangular shape using my largest dotting tool. If you feel like that’s too much work you can just do one larger DOT for the center pad of the “paw”.

Then after that use a smaller dotting tool and make the “toes”. As you can see from the picture I made the two in the center kind of close together and then the last two on the sides. Be careful to not go to far down the sides or away from the middle because then it will start to look like you just put a bunch of random dots on…. but that could still be cool! 😀

You can put as many paw prints as you want or very few if you prefer. For example my little finger doesn’t have as much space as my other fingers so I did just one paw print on it. Kind of reminds me of my old high school team logo, not the same colors though 😦

What I used:

  • Base Coat: OPI Naile Envy
  • Magenta: China Glaze “108 Degrees”
  • Pearly White:  Sinful Colors “Tokyo Pearl”
  • Black: Sally Hansen “Black Out”
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite

I’m hoping that soon I will start making some videos to make it easier to understand what I’m talking about most of the time. I’m sure a lot of people are a lot like myself when it come to learning new things- you have to see it!  Also I’ll be posting picture’s of my tool supplies and a link to a youtuber that has a tutorial on how to make your own dotting tools.  I’m also hoping to start adding to the tips and tricks section pretty soon! So please feel free to contact me with any suggestions or requests! Good luck and have fun!

Funky Zoo ;) Zebra/ Leopard Prints

This is my own design. I used my own nail polish that I paid with my own money. 😉 ( Or my husband’s $ XD)

This design that I came up with was suggested by a good friend of my. My little muse screamed ANIMAL PRINT! So I was like yea why not?!

I got a little sloppy with my ring finger so I decided that a little Japanese inspired nail deco would fit in great.

Polish I Used:

  • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
  • Pink: Sinful Colors “Social Ladder”
  • Purple: Sinful Colors “Verbena”
  • Pink Spots: Sinful Colors “Cream Pink”
  • Pink Stripes: L.A. Colors Art Deco “Baby Pink”
  • Black Outlines: Jazz It Up Nail Art Brush/Pen

Now with the black I used only the brush end because on this particular brush/pen combo the pen flow is very hard to control! Like all my other designs you can mix it up! If you like more of leopard prints you can skip the stripes all together, or vice versa. You can also do this in any colors you like. I just happen to think that the pink and purple where awesome together. 😀  Also if you don’t have the gems, or just don’t prefer them, you don’t have to use them at all.  Nothing is set in stone! XD

P.S. I would not recommend using my nails to do the spots and stripes! It’s much easier to find a picture on the internet of a leopard or zebra (or tiger..?) and looking at it’s coat for a better visual.
