China Glaze, Surfin’ For Boys

I really hate saying hello or hi to being with. In really life I’m not really like that either I just start talking….usually. So have you ever gone surfing? I wanted to at one point when I lived in Florida growing up but it was more like a desire to just be able to do it without the effort. I’ve changed a lot since I was a child and my teenage years. I’m up for almost any challenge now. I still may try to make an excuse to not start something but unlike when I was younger- I don’t back out of a challenge I’ve already committed to. I guess I’m just not afraid of losing anymore. But yeah- I’d love to try surfing now! Sorry didn’t mean to get all deep on ya…XD cheesy I know. ON TO THE POLISH!

China Glaze, Surfin’ For Boys

China Glaze, Surfin’ For Boys

So China Glaze Surfin’ For Boys has so far for me been one of the hardest to capture on my camera. If you love neon corals with a pink shimmer maybe a tiny bit duo(colored? they’re not chromes!), maybe its just a strong shimmer that I’m totally amazed at and at loss for proper description, you will LOVE THIS. It is a must see IRL. I highly recommend it. Good formula, 3 coats plus top coat, they dry satin matte because of their neon nature.  The settings on my camera are altered so that the color was true but my flesh looked corpse like. Once I put the pics in the multiple image resizer to watermark and such, some how it made it seem a little bit more red toned then it is! So what looks orangey should be a bit more pink so….neon coral as said before. So I could rave about this for awhile but I wont. Enjoy!

Zoya Arizona

Oh hi! Ok so, I mentioned before I’m a little bit obsessed with Arizona. That’s where my hubby and I met and fell in love. That’s not the WHOLE reason of course. Anyways, so I knew I had to have Zoya’s Arizona purely based on the name. I know, silly. But its worth it, I don’t have a lot of oranges and this is pretty sweet.

Zoya Arizona

This color really makes me think of orange creamsicles! Yummmyyyy! Zoya Arizona is 3 coats, with no topper. Dries a little darker then what you see and is a little bit of a pain. It really likes to drag and bald. So 3 coats was a must. Still very pretty summery orange!

I don’t have much else to say right except I think I might have to go to the store now and buy some yummies.

Pure Ice: “Scream!” and “Bite Me!”

Oh hi! Walmart had a new Pure Ice display (I’m guessing for summer) that I couldn’t seem to find a name to but was full of cremes and jewel tones. I grabbed the turquoise “Scream!’ and the bronzey-gold “Bite Me!” plus one more…

Pure Ice; Scream! and Bite Me!

I don’t have a lot of Pure Ice but I think I’m starting to really like them, being cheapies and all. They have good coverage and dry pretty fast. 2 coats for Scream! and 3 for Bite Me! Plus topcoat.  I love this combo and it reminds me of Arizona, which I love, and I’m sure my mother-in-law would agree ;D. She just as (if not MORE) obsessed with AZ as I am. So maybe in the near future I can do a desert sunset cacti mani?

Dubstep Art Inspired by Robin Moses

If you love nail art and haven’t heard of Robin Moses (robinmosesnailart on Youtube), you’re missing out…big time.

Here’s the original tut.

Lady has madddd skills. Here’s my variation of that.

 Image

It’s been awhile since I’ve put up any art!!! My model is my sister-in-law, who has been nicknamed Billy basically from birth. When I saw Robin’s tut I knew Billy would love the bright and dark combination… I would love this on myself but they way children are make this kind of effort impossible. I just love this! 😀 Oh before I forget. The black polish is WnW Black Creme. The rest is acrylic, top coated with Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

Zoya: Dannii

Hello! Today I have another Zoya polish. It’s purple so of course its awesome.

Zoya Dannii

Zoya Dannii

Zoya Dannii done in 2 coats! This polish has such good consistency and build beautifully. I love how the shimmer reflects back some red, gold and a bit of blue. I’m just in love with this.

I think this could be a good spring time color. Now I’m not exactly the type of person to wear certain colors according to the season. On occasion I might, but if I feel like wearing a very summery neon pink in the middle of winter, I will! 😀

That’s all for today! Expect one more Zoya from me in the next post!

Holo Goodness: Glitter Gal “Marine Blue” Review

Hello everyone out there!!! If you looked at the photo’s first you’re most likely not reading any of this! At all! You’re most likely sitting there slack-jawed, eye’s wide and drooling. XD Don’t worry…I’ll wait…….OKAY! So now I want to tell you a bit about this wonderful drool-worthy polish.

For those of you who don’t know about Glitter Gal, it’s an Australian brand and it’s operated by two CHICKS (Anna and Kerry)!!!! Right on!

Both Anna and Kerry have been friends for many years and partnered together to create Glitter Gal Australia. With Kerry’s experience as a makeup artist and Anna’s background in creating/supplying “private label” products to other Australian companies they have designed “Glitter Gal Australia” a great makeup and nail polish range.

The thing I think is awesome about Glitter Gal is that they have very interesting and unique products- especially the nail polish. Their “sparkle” and “holographic” nail polish line’s are to die for and I’m practically on the edge of my seat waiting for their upcoming line’s “shade shifter”, “transitions” and “essentials”.

First before anything else this IS a “Big 3 Free polish”! I only own one other holographic nail polish and I was a bit sickened when I found out that it was definitely not 3 Free.

Blue Marine is an amazing deep blue polish. If I wasn’t taking pictures of it I honestly could have gotten away with doing only one coat for this bad boy. The quality is excellent, very pigmented.Very holographic sparkly. It dries very smooth too. I used one coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri over top. And it’s blue!! ♥ it!

Isn’t this polish amazing?!?!?! I tried my very very best to get this in natural light. Considering that we’re having a snowy spring it seems my “sun” dance gave us a break….for a day. 😉  Most of the pics are natural light and did you see the bottle itself? That’s a bit more what it looks like IRL.  I think doing the one finger with the bottle was my best bet for getting what it looked like despite being a little blurry.  I also had to throw a bit of artwork in too. 😀 It’s just acrylic paint with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Top Coat. After taking these picture’s I continued sitting in the window just absolutely amazed…. @.@

Glitter Gal sells their polishes on their website. They come in two sizes now the one in my picture’s is an 9ML- those go for 11.95 AUD (Australian dollar) and the bigger size is 15ML for 20.00AUD.  Their polishes can also be found at Llarowe $14 for 9ML and $20 for 15ML.

They are a little bit pricey but quality wise- it’s worth it. My hubby doesn’t condone my nail polish habit but I’m hoping if maybe I’m a good girl I might be aloud to purchase a few of these in the future. 😀

The Muppets Nail Art

Finally as promised! I had a lot of fun putting all of these together. I hope you all enjoy. They’re all video’s so sit back and just watch! 🙂

Miss Piggy

Fozzie Bear

Kermit The Frog

Gonzo

Animal

Well there you go! Tell me, are you a fan of the Muppets? If so, which is your favorite one?

I will update in a few days of the items used….

Gone Batty!

Here’s another Halloween design you can do- I promise this one is a lot less steps! XD

Now hopefully you all liked that this one was much shorter. If you don’t have a crackle polish you can always fake it with a plain black polish by dabbing square-ish shapes instead. If you have a plain black stripper this effects comes out even better.

Items Used:

  • Orange: Sinful Colors “Summer Peach”
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Black Crackle: China Glaze “Black Mesh”
  • Yellow: Sinful Colors “Morning Breath”

Here is a picture with different color variations. The eyes streaked a little bit due to using cheaper topcoat! I’m trying to save my more expensive stuff for my own nails! ;D The silver crackle was painted on from left to right & also from right to left!

Jeepers Creepers!

In the spirit of Halloween and everything spooky and fun, I came up with this eye popping design. XD Apparently I like puns.

♫♪ Jeepers creepers! Where’d you get those peepers? Jeepers creepers where’d you get those eyes?♪♫ Maybe I’m just old, but does anyone else remember that song? I heard it in an old black and white cartoon. And I don’t think it was Casper either…. Or was it?

Also if anyone is wondering about the cookie- it’s my famous “Less Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Chip Cookies”. I make them this way because as much as I like chocolate chip cookies- I really don’t like to bite into my cookie and see a center filled with chocolate. I’m weird, I know.

So anyways onto instructions for this design. Which happens to be my first video tutorial!!!!!! XD

Just to add into the video a little bit- for the pupil you could make a slit pupil like a cat or snake! 😀

List of Items Used:

  • White Nail Polish: OPI “Alpine Snow”
  • Wet n’ Wild Fantasy Makers Glow-in-the-dark polish
  • Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Acrylic Paints:
    • Black: Folk Art “Pure Black”
    • Navy: Folk Art “Navy”
    • Light Blue: Jo Ann’s Craft Essentials “Baby Blue”

Sorry I didn’t get a better picture of the brushes. They’re nothing special, just cheap brushes I got from Jo Ann’s. You can use whatever sizes you feel comfortable with.

Fruit For All

Fruity Fingers

Yummm! Who could resist? All these need now is a basket! XD

Base Coat all nails! I used OPI Nail Envy.

Apple! I put down a green base color for my background and used my largest dotting tool to make the sparkly red apple. It would probably look even nicer to outline you apple in black. I used my smallest dotting tool to make a “shiny” spot on the apple and the stem.

Grapes! My base color use was white, I used one of my larger dotting tools (not the largest)to sporadically place the grapes in somewhat of a cluster. Don’t have them too close or it will end up looking like a blob. I used my detail brush to add the curly stem and leaf.

Strawberry! Base color red. Use a darker green to make a saw toothed edge tip. To do this gently place the nail polish brush at an angle on the nail where you want the tip of the leaf to be and drag it downward off of the nail. Repeat until finish. Try not to place the brush to close to the previous leaf tip because they will just look like you did a sloppy french tip. It’s better to go a little bit farther away then you think it should just in case and then you can build it up if it needs it. For the seeds I used a yellow stripper polish and dabbed on the seeds. I used yellow because I thought it looked more like real seeds.

Watermelon!Creamy pink base color! Then start at the bottom with a dark green stripper and make a thing line int the tip of the nail. Make another line next to that one in a white. This next line is optional- pink! I did it this way because I think it looks nicer. If you don’t like it you can skip it. Now for the seeds you can use a dotting tool, I just used the black stripper brush and dabbed them on in somewhat of a row like you would see in a real slice of watermelon.

Kiwi! Base color is a shimmery lime green. make the center of the fruit “slice” by using a light green a making lines, very close together, into and oval shape. These lines don’t need to be uniform- just as long as they take the oval shape, leaving the center open. Make some seeds, same as before, using the stripper brush and dab them around the edges of the oval.

Top Coat!

Sorry there is no “Polishes Used” List this time! I did this awhile ago. My collection has grown since I’ve done this design and I’m not sure which colors where used for some of the nails. I will try to make this list later. I hope you enjoy this in the mean time while I try to get some new designs together for next week. 😀

Quick Question! Does anyone play OMGPop?
