Oh how I loathe and ♥ this polish. So beautiful in the bottle yet so very difficult to deal with! ALSO IT’S A FAKE! As in it’s labeled as “Splish Splash” from the summer 2012 collection but alas its not, I have been fooled.
China Glaze Blue Sparrow looks pretty cool in the bottle but it the biggest pain to apply. I did it out doors so maybe that’s a factor, but it dragged a lot and clumped up and dried out fast. Which is why this looks so bumpy. 3 coats and a top coat very pretty but maybe not worth the hassle. If I do put this on again I will do it indoors and I will update this post! It might make a slight difference- but until then- this is all ya get. -.0
Oh hi! Ok so, I mentioned before I’m a little bit obsessed with Arizona. That’s where my hubby and I met and fell in love. That’s not the WHOLE reason of course. Anyways, so I knew I had to have Zoya’s Arizona purely based on the name. I know, silly. But its worth it, I don’t have a lot of oranges and this is pretty sweet.
This color really makes me think of orange creamsicles! Yummmyyyy! Zoya Arizona is 3 coats, with no topper. Dries a little darker then what you see and is a little bit of a pain. It really likes to drag and bald. So 3 coats was a must. Still very pretty summery orange!
I don’t have much else to say right except I think I might have to go to the store now and buy some yummies.
Even though this summer is big for neons and all the major brands seem to have a summer neon line up, I found this collection at Ross early this spring. It really makes me hesitant to buy any of the new neons out there- as unbelievable as that sounds. Maybe they’re not as neon as some are now? Color Club Electro Candy was from summer 2009.
Formula wise I find these are great and pop if you have white polish for a base. All of these (except for Pure Energy<the blue one>) are one thickish coat on top of two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. I also used the “Vivid Top Coat” that came with the set. Which I believe to is to bring out the subtle shimmer in all of these. I must say subtle is definitely the word. A little more visible in person, regardless I ♥ these. If you don’t use top coat these dry to a dull finish. I can’t even say it satin matte because it isn’t!
The shimmer in What A Shock should be blue. And this color probably turned out more accurate then the rest.
The shimmer in Volt Of Light should be green. And the color should be a little brighter.
The collections namesake Electro Candy. Probably has the most visible shimmer which seems to be white. This is very bright but it should be a little more saturated in this photo. Think more like the “dark parts” and less like where the light hits it.
Tangerine Scream was insanely hard to capture and it make me wonder how well it would have turned out if I had a light box. This is not accurate at all and think more of a caution cone color with a silvery white shimmer. But I thought I would share the pictures because they look super cool to me.
Ultra Violet wasn’t nearly as bad as Tangerine Scream to capture but none the less the color is off. My camera has something against purples. What’s in the bottle in this pic should be a touch darker and it has a beautiful blue shimmer that is so pretty IRL.
Pure Energy is another one that should be a bit darker with a light blue shimmer in it. Super subtle in this one. Oh and this one is two coats over two coats of white.
So thats all and you can look forward to my using 3 of these in an upcoming gradient tutorial in video form. ;D
So here is a really pretty light chrome blue!
OH GOSH! *drool* I love love it. It’s a one coater so this will be good for stamping! Dry time was fast and this is without top coat! a total win. I’ve increasingly have less to say about polish lately. My admiration is the same just not feeling as chatty lately.
So here’s something different and new for you, less color, more nail. Kleancolor Sheer Pastel Nude is one of my very few nude polishes But I really do like it since it “brightens” the nail up a little. A nice clean color. This is 2 coats. No top coat. Pretty no? Sorry I don’t have a whole lot to say, but maybe you like that!
Hi hi hi! So I did go back and get ONE more Maybelline Color Show nail lacquer. I did get another metallic- yes I know I complain about the fact that you can see imperfections more with these- BUT color and application wise these do not disappoint.
Bold Gold is ONE coats, I do not lie! It dries fast! I did not put a topcoat on this since I do like the satin matte finish. This is one coat need I say more? IT’S PERFECT. The only thing I do not like about these metallics are that if you have peeling nails on the tips like I do- you will be able to see that very plain as day! Same goes for Amethyst Ablaze. For me that’s not enough to scare me off- I think they’re probably my favorite metallic polishes.
Maybe now I can be satisfied with my gold polishes, this is indeed very “gold plated.”
Hello! Today I wantede to show you the 2 polishes I picked up from Walgreen’s. They are both from Wet n Wild Chrome collection. They’re all very metallic! I really wanted all of them (of course 😛 ) but picked these because I felt that they were a bit more unique then what I already have.
So here we go!
2 coats of Steel the Spot Light with SH Insta Dri topcoat.Great application, builds up nicely, dries fast. I love this! It’s basically a silver-ish polish densely packed full of silver and gold glitter and shimmer. I’ve been trying to increase my collection of gold polshes because of an incident I had before. This still isn’t quite 24k…and more silver then gold. Saying those words in the same sentence reminds me of that saying about friends…In case you don’t know it- “Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the others gold.” Hey they should have named this “friends” jk.
Penny For Your Thoughts is 2 coats with SH Insta Dri topcaot. Just as before- get application smooth dries fast. This one was a no brainer of which was a MUST have out of the collection. I do not own any copper polishes! This is copper tinged (what do you call a “matte” copper color??) base packed with copper and gold glitter and shimmer.
I may have to go back and get the green in the collection!
Hi hi hi. Today I have another Nfu Oh from their Jelly Syrup series, JS31.
I so love JS31. Just like JS24, the formula is very good, not runny or thick! As said before- these are jellies so if you have a huge crack as I do on my ring finger, you will see it- probably better then if you had no polish. BUT I love this blue!
Again – showing 1, 2 and 3 coats.
Hello! So this is a straight up swatch of Nfu Oh JS24 (from the Jelly Syrup series) on its own, no nail art.
Js24 is in 3 coats in these photos. Rather pinkish with some blueish tones. No topcoat! LOOK AT THAT!! I ♥ it. This polish may bald in spots. I can’t remember if I mentioned this before but these can turn out really good if you’re not too heavy handed with them. After playing around with it a bit it was quite easy to get the hang of. Good formula though not runny or thick. If you wear this on its own you will see every imperfection on the nail. You may notice a long crack on the tip of my nail on the very first picture.
Just a refresher on how this looks when its layered in 1, 2 and 3 coats.
