Claire’s Magnetix “Blue”

So some of you that read this this is my second Claire’s Magnetix polish. They don’t have any real names so I call ’em like I see ’em. So here’s the blue all my thoughts are the same as “gold’s” post. Except I think the darker color helps with the coverage. Or maybe because this is my 4th time applying it and I’m getting a little better at it?

Claire’s Magnetix “Blue”

Claire’s Magnetix “Blue”

These 1st two are without a topcoat! (Next two are with Topcoat)

Claire’s Magnetix “Blue”

Claire’s Magnetix “Blue”

The only thing that would be different about what I said in the previous post about the polish is that this blue is very pretty! I was afraid my camera wouldn’t  pick up the beautiful purple shimmer in it. Also, if you look at the pinky finger I did the magnet “on point” instead of with the guide…so I basically just put the point where to two edges met on my cuticle.

So I’ve heard that you should wait about 10 minutes to apply topcoat with this polish even though they dry a bit fast, mainly to keep it from ruining the effect. Well I’m super impatient so I waited about half that time. Maybe its just certain brands that get messed up but I think the effect stayed for this brand. I even wore this for another day, had some lady ask me about them while we were looking at polish at Target at the same time. lol So when I bought these there was only 2 other colors (grey and..pink?) last I heard they have green now. There are so many brand doing this now so I’d recommend googling  swatches for other brands, I hear that Color Club is good and cheaper.  Or at least it should be. The only place I’ve seen it in this valley they were selling it for $12.50 a bottle. :O

Claire’s Magnetix “Gold”

A while back I was talking about nail polish trends and magnetic’s were the second topic on that post. Now I’ve finally gotten around to getting the pictures out. This is only my second time using them and I think it’s a lot better looking then my first time.  There are no names for Claire’s Magnetix SO without further ado…

Claire's Magnetix "Gold"

Claire's Magnetix "Gold"

So the no name “gold” magnetix polish comes with the removable cap that the magnet is straight diagonal lines . I also have the blue polish and it has the wavy magnet that I also used on this polish. If you look at the last picture it shows the guides on the cap for where you place the magnet over the nail. The guide goes on your cuticle and you hold it just over the wet polish. Scrangie has a great FAQ & Troubleshooting on the subject. This is my first magnetic so I’m still learning. Even with all the information there is on the subject you still have to practice to get it. You can see in the first picture a little bit of balding. There are a few spots that looked smudge, that’s because the polish was too thick and the magnet pulled it up off the nail. I think I had some balding because I didn’t go thick enough because I was afraid of it pulling it up again. Again, I say practice. Other then the weird shaped mop like brushes the formula was good a little thick but not gloppy. Goes on nice and smooth. I love how this gold reminds me of tiger eye rocks, sort of glass flecked too. Later you’ll see the blue and I will also show these without a magnet in the future.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle, Skittles Swatch Part 2

Hello! If you missed part 1 click here! I’m not going to say anything else about Pirouette My Whistle (PMW) because it’s all in part 1. But I will say that I love it and I will be using it again in a post, who knows when though?

So here’s the right hand! PMW is 2 coasts on all nails with Sally Hansen Intsa Dri Topcoat. Sorry about the middle finger I was already beyond frustrated to fix it!

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Kleancolor Melon Green

Kleancolor Melon Green is 3 coats. Kind of frosty builds nicely.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Sinful Colors Secret Admirer

3 coats of Sinful Colors Secret Admirer. This doesn’t dry real fast but it doesn’t take forever. 2 coats probably would have been fine. I’m not exactly sure what I was thinking when I choose this. Individually this is different from a regular black because it’s loaded with very fine silver glitter that is just a tiny bit smaller then the silver in the in PMW. So is basically the same as my other index finger just a bit more silver glitter. 😛

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Revlon Minted

Revlon Minted is in 3 coats. This is another polish that likes to bald badly. So I ended up putting the last coat thick. So apparently while picturing the left hand first I must have pressed it to hard into the camera. I was pretty sure it was dry and since I already had to monkey with it just to get it on the nail in the first place I didn’t want to go through another headache to fix it. Pretty much the same as SC Unicorn on the middle finger, left hand.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Sinful Colors Nirvana

3 coats of SC Nirvana. It seems like a few of the SC’s like to bald and never dry. This one isn’t as bad as Unicorn but you have to carefully lay it on thick.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby

3 coats of SC Ruby Ruby. I pretty good formula especially compared to the majority of the other SC’s I used for this swatching.

I hope you enjoyed the swatches of PMW.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle, Skittles Swatch Part 1

So when I first saw OPI’s  New York City Ballet Soft Shades, I didn’t feel like  it looked like anything I would want. After seeing lots of other bloggers do swatches of the entire lineup there was one that I knew I really wanted. A glitter of course, Pirouette My Whistle!

I did this as a “skittles” swatch because I find it fun to see how some polishes can be very versatile. I also do it this way when I just buy it and I want to try it over everything!!! Sorry the colors aren’t really themed or corresponding, I just grabbed what I thought would be neat under it.

I usually sum up the polish after some pictures but I’m doing it before this time because there are a lot of pictures and I’ve got a bit to say about the colors themselves. In this post I have it on its own and on 4 color polishes.

Pirouette My Whistle(PMW) is in 2 coats  on all nails even on its own with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Topcoat. You could probably skip topcoat. It has a white almost pearl like hexagon glitter with a very fine silver glitter in a clearish base that seems a teensy bit milky in the bottle but doesn’t  translate to the nail that way. The silver glitters have great even coverage of course, not sparse at all. The white glitter on the other hand doesn’t always want to go on. I think that’s mostly due to the base being a little tiny bit runny(which isn’t bad in this case), but its good enough that swiping it over again a few times gives it good result and it isn’t super gloppy. They settle done well and don’t always pull themselves off with each stroke. I think it’s meant to be sparse, but I personally like a little more. I love this polish though! And as with 99% of glitter polish, this is a PAIN to remove.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle

OPI Pirouette My Whistle

No top coat in this picture.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Wet n' Wild Black Creme

OPI PMW on amazingly 1 coat of Wet n’ Wild Black Creme. It was one flawless coast, need I say more?

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Sinful Colors Unicorn

Sinful Colors Unicorn was 3-4 very frustrating coats. It takes forever to dry. I wanted to scream and break it because it balds badly. Stains like a you wouldn’t believe. Last time I used it was for the rainbow mani, over a white base so I didn’t notice last time.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Kleancolors Sheer Pastel Nude

3 coats of Kleancolors Sheer Pastel Nude. I would have left it at 2 but it really is sheer and I thought without the third, there’d be no difference between it and PMW on it’s own.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle over Wet n' Wild On A Trip

WnW On A Trip is 3 coats. Dries fairly quick. Its from the Megalast collection that has the new “ManiCurve Pro Brush”. Very nice brush btw! One stroke for the pinky every time.

This is all on my left hand and part 2 will be on my right! Stay tuned….

Dubstep Art Inspired by Robin Moses

If you love nail art and haven’t heard of Robin Moses (robinmosesnailart on Youtube), you’re missing out…big time.

Here’s the original tut.

Lady has madddd skills. Here’s my variation of that.

It’s been awhile since I’ve put up any art!!! My model is my sister-in-law, who has been nicknamed Billy basically from birth. When I saw Robin’s tut I knew Billy would love the bright and dark combination… I would love this on myself but they way children are make this kind of effort impossible. I just love this! 😀 Oh before I forget. The black polish is WnW Black Creme. The rest is acrylic, top coated with Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

3 Sally Hansen Polishes in 1 Mani! Golden-I, Rockstar Pink & Multi-Faceted, Oh My!

So lately I’ve been trying to “fill in the gaps” in my collection. I was surprised to find that I didn’t have a regular gold polish. Glitters yes, but nothing that made my nails look gold plated. This is the closest thing I could find to what I was looking for. I wanted something more yellow toned such as 24k gold. This color is more pale such as 10k. I’m still happy with it, especially since finding a gold polish was hard enough.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Golden- I w/ Rockstar Pink on ring finger & Jewel Overcoat: Multi-Faceted on thumb.

The base color is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I in 2 coats very good formula. The polish is kind of a foil but it isn’t streaky at all and a bit sheer but built up very good. Pretty reflective I think! On the inside of my middle finger you can see a tiny pink reflection.

Rockstar Pink is from the SH Xtreme Wear line also. It has small fuchsia, red and blue glitter and a very fine gold glitter. I can’t remember but it’s most likely 3 coats on the ring finger and just a little bit thinly put on the end of the thumb nail. I was surprised at how well it built up for being a finer glitter. It’s no Milani One Coat Glitter (I’ll be showing that very soon!) but very exceptional!

Sally Hansen Golden-I w/ SH Jewel Overcoat: Multi-Faceted on accent fingers.

SH Jewel Overcoat in Multi-Faceted in 2 gloppy coats. I say gloppy because the formula on this does not want to give up those glitters! So beside the obvious black and silver hexagon glitters, there are some beautiful iridescent hexagon glitters in there. You can see a few a bit better on the outside edge of my thumb in this picture. When I first saw this in the store I thought it was silver, black, blue, yellow glitters.  Apparently there is more then one type of iridescent glitter. From what I looked at in my bottle there are indigo, orange-green & turquoise-green. Some flash a yellow in the right light but I think that might just be the orange green ones. As for the indigo I twirled that bottle around and around and it seems like it is not as iridescent as the others unless you consider it as clear-indigo.  Here is a pretty good picture of the bottle with all it’s goodies.

Sally Hansen Jewel Overcoat: Multi-Faceted

I’m so glad I found this at Walgreen’s for 2 reasons. First being I’ve been wanting a black glitter.  Second being….it’s limited edition!I hadn’t been there in awhile to find out that they had a new display, so I almost missed it.  There was a bunch more (so I’m told) but the one I got was the very last and there was only a few other colors left. Actually the only other Jewel OC left was Ring-a-Ding. Here’s a photo from Steph’s Closet of the display. *click link for better view*

I think Let’s dance would have been my second pick. It seems like Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength line is very wedding themed, which you can see from this limited edition display and also in their new core line up. Save The Date is from their core line. I love the colors though, cheesy names and all!

So this is probably the most I’ve typed and put into one post so far, not sure if anyone really reads it but either way I hope you liked them. Snatch up a limited edition while you can! I’m sure their all gone considering where I live we’re the last to see these kinds of things.

Have any thought about all this? I’d love to know!

Zoya: Carmen.

Hi there! Around V-day Zoya had a promotion where you spent at least $4 and you could get any red polish of your choice (and maybe free shipping too? It’s been awhile). I don’t really own a lot of reds, especially cremes. As I looked through all of their reds they had this one “Carmen”. I thought picking my red would be hard but that name made it easy for me because that is my mothers name. It’s been over a year since she passed and I guess you could just call me silly but that’s why I picked this color.

Zoya Carmen

Zoya Carmen done in 2 coats. This is a very bright red, with a tiny tiny bit of blue tone to  it.

To me this red is still like “WOW!” Haha. Surprisingly, I really do like it! I’ll have to do it on both hands someday and see how much I hate like it. 😀

What about you? What about matching lips and nails?

Beautylish is launching a shop!

If you’re not already on it I think you might need this link to be invited to this so called exclusive and upcoming shop. That link is a personal invite from me! They claim that their shop will have exclusive offers and limited edition products. Besides that, IMO I think they are a useful site with tons of beauty articles ranging from DIY’s to interviews with professionals in their line of work ( be it hairstylist, celebrity nail tech…) to whats trending in fashion and beauty.  So it’s definitely worth signing up for. And when you do you get your own link to invite friends and get credits (at 10 friends you get $10 credit). And you need to have 3 friends to get “priority access” to the shop.

Zoya: Dannii

Hello! Today I have another Zoya polish. It’s purple so of course its awesome.

Zoya Dannii

Zoya Dannii

Zoya Dannii done in 2 coats! This polish has such good consistency and build beautifully. I love how the shimmer reflects back some red, gold and a bit of blue. I’m just in love with this.

I think this could be a good spring time color. Now I’m not exactly the type of person to wear certain colors according to the season. On occasion I might, but if I feel like wearing a very summery neon pink in the middle of winter, I will! 😀

That’s all for today! Expect one more Zoya from me in the next post!

Zoya: Uli

Here’s an interesting one for you! Zoya’s Uli is probably my very first  nude polish. I was very hesitant to buy a nude color because I love all things bright shiny and sparkly. But I think if you’re like me this is a nude to make you happy…not pout. 😀 I usually only buy Zoya when there’s a really good promo (i.e. Free shipping or buy one get one) so I think this was one of the free one’s I picked awhile back.

Zoya Uli

Zoya Uli I used 2 coats and Sally Hansen Insta Dri. Now I’ve heard that some Zoya’s can be runny and that they sometimes seem to take forever to dry. I am probably not the most patient of people especially when it comes to polish drying but this didn’t seem to take all that long if you wait like 5 mins in between coats.

This would be a perfect polish for work. Very professional and polished. I love the golden shimmer in this! Without it I think the color would be too close to my own skin for me to like it. I know that’s mostly the idea when it comes to those types of shades but for me I find it a little bit weird and maybe almost scary…like you have no finger nails. 😛 As with most things, nudes and other softer shades could grow on me. Either way I’m more then willing to share with you all types of colors and trends (that I can keep up with…or behind).

So what do you think about nudes?
